How important is the right Guide or Advisor? 4 Key Principles

By: Tony Christensen 12/29/16 Happy Holidays to all! Last Thanksgiving my family and I went hiking in the Valley of Fire State Park between St. George and Las Vegas. I’ve lived in St. George pretty much my entire life and never realized that one of the biggest state parks in the country is just an hour away. When you first arrive it can be somewhat overwhelming determining where to start since the park is so large. When you are unfamiliar with the park, it is difficult to know which hikes require additional gear and which hikes don’t. We were fortunate

Charity a foundation stone of financial success

By: David Harris 12/21/16 Earlier this week our company had the wonderful opportunity to visit some of our Veterans in different elder care facilities and give them a few small gifts. The gifts consisted of homemade Christmas stockings and a few other Christmas trinkets. We wanted our Veterans and their families to know that that we were grateful for their service and that someone was thinking of them during this wonderful season.   As we visited each room we were greeted with surprise, warm smiles, and a couple big hugs. In many cases, the recipients were bound to a wheelchair and

Why Buckets? Setting the foundation for a sound retirement

By: David Harris Many of us can look back at 2007 through 2009 as it was yesterday, Others only see it as a faint memory. Why do I mention those specific years? To some of you that is an overly obvious question and to others it may seem odd. As a Financial Advisor, I remember those years in specific detail. The world watched as the DOW industrial Average peaked at 14,164.53 in October of 2007 and then plummeted to 6,574 in March of 2009. The DOW Industrial index, which is made up of some of the Largest Blue Chip companies

Annuities and Bananas

Growing up in a small Colorado town with a large family of 10, we weren’t exposed to a lot of exotic fruits.  I knew there were different varieties of apples, oranges, plums, and peaches but as for bananas I only knew of one kind and it was sold by Dole or Chiquita.  Nearly 20 years later I left that little town and had the opportunity to live in Brazil only to find out that my knowledge of bananas was extremely limited.  Within my first month in Brazil I found at least 9 different types of bananas. I also found that

Have you discovered your “WHY”?

By: David Harris Asking the right question can be incredibly helpful as we seek for knowledge and truth. I will be asking several questions in this article and possibly more than you may expect so hang in there, I believe it will be worth your time. Have you ever wondered why some of your goals or aspirations have returned greater results than others?   Have you wondered why certain obstacles seemed greater than others when trying to reach a specific outcome? Maybe you have thought that you didn’t have the strength or the determination to finish what you started?  It has

Caution: Tony is in the Kitchen – How to name beneficiaries

Recipe For Success – More than just ingredients Happy Thanksgiving! I love this time of year. I can think of very few things better than getting together with family, playing games, and best of all, enjoying a large meal over and over again! Lucky for me, I’m not much of a cook so I get to enjoy the hard work that those around me put in, while I provide moral support! I must confess that when I say I’m not much of a cook, the reality is I should be banned from the kitchen all together. I can still remember

What Is Your Wealth Strategy? | Don’t get sucked in by the faster moving lanes

By: Tony Christensen 11/15/16 As many of you know, we had a baby boy recently. After not sleeping for a couple months my wife and I decided we needed to get out of town and headed for Newport for a little vacation with both kids. Travelling with kids can be less than exciting at times, especially when you are in the car for over 6 hours. As we were traveling down the freeway I naturally would get distracted with the occasional crying but I noticed my patience wasn’t really tested until we would hit heavy traffic coming into California. When

Is A Recession Coming? – 3 Questions to Ask Yourself

I recently injured my shoulder and there are certain movements that cause pain. What I learned from this however, has been an eye opener in regards to the necessity of recessions. For those of you that know me, I’m a creature of habit. I get up at the same time every morning and do the same routine Monday thru Saturday. One part of that routine is going to the gym at 7am. My workout routine is currently limited due to pain and limited range of motion. So what happened to get me to that point? Early this year, I made

Its All About Perspective!

Finding the right perspective amidst uncertainty in our economy. Happy 4th of July to you all. Last week was quite the week. My family typically goes up north to a place called Huntsville, where my wife grew up. It’s a small town tucked up in a canyon north of Ogden where the landscape is pretty much the exact opposite of St. George…and 15 degrees cooler. You can tell it’s a small town from the festivities alone. I watched a parade full of antique farm tractors. My daughter got to be in a sawdust candy hunt where they say “go” and
